I knew I'd be won over by the new She-Ra, but I hadn't expected it to be *that* much fun. ^_^ Only five eps in so far, though, so I don't know what comes of Catra.

Whilst it's not exactly subtle, I applaud the concept of being fundamentally misled by one's upbringing - that's quite a bold step in mainstream animation.

So, roomie's choice was Super 8.. which.. eh. It was a film. Per superstar director, lens flare everywhere, though ISTR he did apologise for it in the Star Trek reboot. And WTF's with the total farging sausagefest? ONE GIRL (who, naturally, has to be rescued) in the whole damned thing? Did the History Channel finance this?

Hmm. Feels like it's time to negotiate a good film or two for tonight's viewing. Or maybe we'll just finish off The First, a decent SF drama about the first manned Mars mission in the early 2030s. (Not outstanding, with the dialogue often rather flat, and a touch overwrought in places, but engaging nonetheless, with a spirit of adventure I can't resist)

@mxsiege You have not yet been introduced to the wonderful world of full-bodied cider, at 200 cals/bottle? ^_^ (Dunkertons Black Fox, Perry's Dabinett, Sheppy's Dabinett, M&S Discovery..)

I'm crediting at least some of my upper growth to the dedicated consumption of such. ^_^

@leadore @InvaderXan A fair point. ^_^; (iOS, in my case - mostly controlled from my iPad) I'd unfortunately completely overlooked that. Not to worry!

@leadore @InvaderXan Oh! I must note, it all hangs off their (wireless) hub - you need one of those too. That plugs into your WiFi router or anywhere else on your network, so you need an ethernet port available.

There are usually bundles available, like the bridge and a lightstrip, saving a bit on buying separately.

@leadore @InvaderXan Philips Hue LightStrip Plus. ^_^ They're 2m by themselves, and you can add 1m extensions that just plug into the end. They come with an adhesive backing for securing to walls, but I've currently got mine mostly snaking around some chrome shelving. ^_^

@leadore @InvaderXan That's part of what I like with this setup - they've made it so third parties can join in, or, out of the box, you can simply enjoy placing each light where you want, saving them, and choosing whichever suits your mood. It's a low stress approach, with the flexibility to add as you want.

@leadore @InvaderXan I'd suggest simply snagging some of their lightstrips. ^_^ They've got quite a range, but they're wonderful for the amount of coverage (and light) they offer. And it's all easily extended, if you feel so inclined.

@InvaderXan I'd happily recommend them. ^_^ Philips Hue are the family I've been drawing from - not cheap, but flexible (plays well with whatever devices you have) and secure (one of the few IoT platforms with decent security).

This app's gently cycling through a panchromatic palette on each segment independently. It's like a visual massage. ^_^

@InvaderXan Lighting's becoming a habit with me. ^_^; Now up to 13m of RGB lightstrips in four segments, and two RGB lamps. And it's *absolutely wonderful!* It's remarkable how positive a mood boost it can be, gently cycling through some range of hues, or synced to Sofi Tukker or Apollo 440. ^_^

@scarly It's something /about/ this place. ^_^ Even someone as private as me winds up wittering away. =:D
