@theoutrider Doesn't help that hardware manufacturers refuse to update any of their phones except the most expensive ones, and even then not for long.

Google doesn't have much choice but to take charge if they ever want to not have 90% of Android phones 2-3 versions behind, but they're using it as an excuse to take more control from the user while they take it from the manufacturers.

I soft bricked my phone by disabling Google Search. I wanted to remove their search widget so it wouldn't take up two full rows with the DuckDuckGo search bar.

This is the bleakest future. I don't think my next phone will be an Android.

You know how disheartening it is to watch an alleged progressive say everyone in rural areas deserves to suffer because of the Trump voters?

I very, very reluctantly voted Clinton because I understood Trump would be a dive into the abyss where Clinton would only be a casual stroll into it. Why am I tossed in the same pit as my Trump-voting neighbor?

People are out of touch across the board.

Sometimes I forget most people have a compressed, stereotyped understanding of people who live outside cities. We're just as varied as anyone else, but it seems like only the stereotypes get air time.

I do want to live in a city, but it's not as bad out here as the TV led you to believe.

I used to think I'd be able to live in a modest apartment in a mid-sized city some day. That's like...how. What. It feels so alien as an ambition now.

Me: *lowers expectations*
Me: *tries to achieve them with considerable effort*
World: "nah"

@cnc I'm in the US in a rural area.

My current low is "can afford a nice scooter, a good camera, and a little American flag for the scooter so rednecks won't run over me." It's...a long way off.
