A few days ago I took a picture on a floppy drive equipped camera from 1997 at VGA resolution. Today, I viewed that picture on a Tandy 1000 from 1987, took a picture of that with my brand new cell phone and Now I'm uploading it to the fediverse from an XO-1 circa 2007.
That's a 40+ year full circle.

It may not be for several years, but eventually GitHub will be subsumed into another Microsoft "Code" service that properly fits their corporate branding.
They will integrate it with every-damn-thing from VSCode to Outlook and LinkedIn.
If you thought not having a GH account is career-sui now, just wait until it has infiltrated all the adjacent systems.

Loaded up the expedition Sasquatch website on my xo-1 last night, just to see what would happen.
It loads slowly, but it ultimately loaded.
I guess I should try to optimize it for low RAM machines that still attempt to execute JS, instead of adding that a low ram machine will have JS disabled.
Gotta finish the design a bit, too, and get the cast and blog sections up, but that can wait a few weeks.

@mdm mine needs some cosmetic work, but is in sound mechanical shape. It's fun! And way safer and easier to maintain than the Healy Sprite I wanted to buy.

The idea of Jack running through TSA carrying a riffle, giddy as a pig over the contents of an Email (a technology he'd never used a few months ago!) just stands out as such a wonderful image.

The built in video player doesn't ship with MP4 codecs, and I'm only a little bothered by that.
It would be nice to have h264 available, but ogg is good enough for now.
I think audacity comes preinstalled? Or at least it is available as a sugar package?
Once I stick an SD card in the thing I'll look in to that.

Looks like medium bitrate 480p vp8 ogg video files play back without issue.
