my strongly-worded-letter backlog is getting kind of out of control.

first of all, fuck no, and second of all you people sure are gonna get a strongly worded letter about this one.

@bram i'm relieved to see that this take is becoming more widespread. i've felt like i'm hollering into the void for some years now, even though people who really live and breathe this stuff will usually at least privately acknowledge it...

@Greg it could also be that you're just supposed to hold the identity a little lighter and have multiple keys on multiple devices if that's what you want to do, but i'm not entirely sure what the cultural assumptions are there.

@joeyh @Greg i spent a while the other day trying to get git-ssb going, because i think i want what it does pretty badly, and ran into heavy npm tangles.

ssb & its ecosystem are definitely a strong case of: i wish that people would stop doing interesting things in node.

@Greg i think your assumptions are probably correct: the key that identifies you lives there, i'm pretty sure, and as of yet there is no especially useful multi-device story (beyond you can move the .ssb to another device).

@Greg @thcipriani @joeyh i'm on there intermittently - i don't run a pub, but i've thought about setting one up somewhere (at least insofar as i understand how a pub works, which i might not). there's a lot about ssb that hasn't quite gelled in my head yet.

@kensanata i guess in summary: feeds shoulda been inline markup from the get-go probably? i don't know.

@kensanata there're feedreaders (well, i know newsblur at least) where they make an effort to grab fulltext from the site when it's not available in the feed, but i agree it'd be nice if it were always there...

i'm not as sure, though, that it's a conscious choice in a lot of cases. i can think of a good number that don't post the fulltext who definitely aren't interested in ad revenue or analytics.

when i was in a facility for a while as a kid, getting letters from people was pretty huge. also somebody got me a deck of cards and i played a truly staggering amount of solitaire.

a bag of hard candy or the like can be pretty great when you're killing time, though as others have mentioned that might not be allowed.
