    I was one of the fortunate few getting several guaranteed weeks of Paid Time Off per year working for a large broadcasting network, but they nixed the program this year and from next year on we’re supposed to have “unlimited paid time off” which means “depends on your boss”. Again, fortunately I’m in good terms with my boss but I assume this is not an improvement for many of my co-workers, especially women or people of color who once more have to deal with potential biases.

    @meregeek Je ne comprends pas la question, ils ont fait un test avant d’arriver, de façon responsable, et l’un d’entre elleux était positif. Ma mère leur a dit qu’elle ne préférait pas qu’iels rentrent et on s’est échangés nos cadeaux respectifs à distance avant qu’iels repartent ensemble.

    My mom had to turn down 2 of my siblings coming to spend Christmas at her house where I’m staying because 1 of them tested positive just before arriving and they just drove 5 hours together. I’m glad she stood her ground, I’m glad they didn’t resist her but I’m still defeated. 😞

    The best thing you can do to people peddling N•F•Ts as a get-rich-quick scheme or as social status is simply to ignore them. Both activities require to reach out to as many people as possible, either to perpetuate the scam or assert the status.

    Your memory is nothing like computer RAM, we just constantly reconstruct memories from scratch. Sometimes it is accurate but most of the times it isn’t. For example most of my memories of casual driving in Australia are wrongly right-handed which can only be explained by habit.
