@kelbot @seasharp @bignimbus @Gargron Hi all, I am indeed the developer of GetTogether, and very interested in adding better federation support.

I have an open issue for adding ActivityPub federation of events and places, possibly teams too. If anybody understands it well at the API level, we'd love your contribution to it.

In the mean time, feel free to setup your own team and events, the site is free to use (though I plan on using premium features to pay for hosting costs in the future)

Haven't posted in a while, but GetTogether .Community keeps getting new features that make it easier to promote and grow your events.

@cwebber @ted I'm positive we've talked about it before, it's open source Meetup.com alternative with (probably, potentially) federation support

@ted That's true. I'll have to see what ActivityStreams has for handling that kind of data. @cwebber any suggestions on that?

@ted that feels like scope creep, but you make a good point

Speaker management is going to be the first major premium feature for #GetTogether, scheduled for the next release. You will be able to manage multiple speaker profiles and talks, with tools for even organizers to request, review and approve proposals for their events.

What else would you want from this feature?

@bobjonkman Thanks! I've put it on the target lost for 0.4.0 which is targeted to be done by the end of this month, but that's probably optimistic unless somebody else picks it up given the other things on the list for that milestone.
