@ohyran @colomar You can export your list of people you follow from the old account, and import them into the new one. Sadly that only works for people you follow, the people who follow you will need to follow your new account manually

@colomar @ohyran I switched a few months ago, and totally agree about the Local Timeline finally being something I want to look at. Plus the server has been rock solid and works with Tusky on Android. 10/10, would switch to fosstodon again.

@switchingsocial @medusa Just a minor correction, https://gettogether.community isn't a test site, it's a production instance for event organizers who don't want to host their own instance.

@hisham_hm @0x1C3B00DA you cam do that (and GetTogether does with a variety of auth providers) but unless we have just one that everybody agrees to use it's going to remain fragmented. Sadly OpenID appears to have lost the popularity race.

You're right about it being hard to get people to signup for multiple services though, but without a single authoritative source of user identification and authentication I'm afraid it's a problem the fediverse will always have.
