I've learned that my brain works better if I take time to get outdoors and exercise - that's why for me cycling is as important as eating and sleeping.

@fgraver @tdorey No - I've tentatively slotted it in near the end. The earlier units offer a lot of potential solutions, and I want the discussion to occur in this context.

Of course, the discussion could continue long after the course... which would be good.

@fgraver @tdorey Power, agency, control, influence - these are all important topics. I don't have explicit plans to cover them, but maybe I should.

August 19, 2018. 25x50 Day 19. Another beautiful day for cycling and I went almost 70km to Curran and back. This is the Paroisse St-Luc in Curran.

@lauraritchie There's a lesson in learning here.

Anytime you're strong, you help those around you be strong, not just now, but in the future, because they can draw on your example.

The content doesn't matter - it could be climbing a tower, taking a language test, speaking in front of a crowd, playing chess, whatever.

25x50 Day 11. 50 km to Avonmore and back. Still adjusting (painfully) to the new bicycle seat. The barn below is on highway 43 just west of Avonmore.

25x50 Day 10. 50.6 km. This was the first day on the new bike after too many days off the road. I picked it up in Embrun and rode to Chesterville and back. The new bike is just a hair heavier and slower than the old, but it feels a lot more solid. Made in Canada, too. Here's a picture in the park in Morewood on the way back.

So the old bicycle is dead. It turns out that the thread in the lower crank were tapped poorly, leaving half of the cylinder without thread (and the metal really thin on the other side). So I hurt my bank account badly and paid for a new bike today.

25x50 Day 9. Rented a big heavy bike and cycled a difficult 52.5 km today at an ultra-slow pace. The scenery, though, was beautiful as I went up the riverside trail from Cornwall to the Long Sault Parkway on the St. Lawrence.

Rainy, windy. Not a good day for biking. And the bike's still in the shop. But it's just nice enough for a ball game.

25x50 Day 8 - 52 km. Went to Maxville and back on a beautiful cycling day. Unfortunately, the bottom crank (where the pedals go) seized up, which means the bike is back in the shop. It has been a bad year for that.

@lauraritchie I've never been able to separate them. But I am back biking again, which is always a positive.
