38km on the bicycle today - not very far, but I am finding have to warm up to it again.

@lightweight What I like is how much fun the band is obviously having playing it.

@dogtrax that was nice. Professional quality soubd, every note in place. I might have given the vocals more volume. But it's nice that they're understated. Unique voice, good to listen to. The whole effect reminds me more of Mark Knoffler than, say, Dylan.

@mackiwg It will be posted on my website as well - but my employer is nagging me for some publications. Also, since I'm not getting speaking invitations any more, I conclude that people aren't reading my website any more.

@mackiwg IRRODL won't take it - I've offered them a few things, but all they want are the very structured 'research' articles. JIME might be a possibility.

@lauraritchie I guess the best example of this sort of thing is Post-Modern Jukebox, which is very good, but they don't emulate modern (post-60s) bands, only earlier (Jazz/lounge) styles. http://postmodernjukebox.com/ My favourite of their is their take on 'Crazy'.

@lauraritchie I want to hear the results. They could interpret as the Beatles singing about their break-up - John singing 'You give yourself away', Paul singing "See the stone set in your eyes / See the thorn twist in your side". The whiole group in harmony doing the "With or Without you" bit.

Also - I've spent the whole day thinking about what U2's 'With or Without You' would sound as sung by the Beatles. There's probably a whole market for hit songs as sung by long-gone hit bands. Call it DeepSongs or some such thing. #smallstories

Was out on the bicycle today - 38 km. That makes 66km on the year so far. I need to ride myself back into shape. Tomorrow (Monday) looks like another good day to cycle.
