woken in the night by a screaming hedgehog. I had no idea they did that- friend of mine was saying how he rescued a baby making the most disturbing wails the other night. Apparently if couldn't quite roll up in a ball and they make a VERY loud mwaaaaahhhhh shriek that sounds not entirely unlike a young human baby. I was up with a cold sweat when I heard it and at 1am was not going trampling through the undergrowth next to the field to find it. Hope it got to sleep. #smallstories

@Downes I would have jumped a mile and found a big stick to 'relieve' it back into the wild !

I have no idea how we don't have more wildlife in our house- we leave doors and windows open and there are no screens here. Fortunately the birds are not quite that tame.

@artsyhonker I'm like that with mango - my family loves it and I just can't deal with it - even in a juice just a little bit puts me off.

The most glorious strawberries have appeared. I can say all my spending money will go on a glut of these juicy heavenly fruits for the next few weeks. This one variety (Elsanta) is even better than the bees knees. (and the bees near us have very heavy, golden knees because they are so full of all that pollen)

This morning on my 6:30 am run (unplanned, but it just happened) EVERYTHING was so clear. Loads of ideas. Teaching ideas, explaining ideas, structure and process ideas.

Sometimes space just opens up and there is this pool of ideas. -then comes the challenge to put them into words (or not) and to realise them.

@atsuko I do all those things! my area of specialism is self-efficacy, self-regulation, and skill acquisition.

@Downes hopefully the funding decision isn't actually personal just fiscal. (I get none because nobody gets any, and so I have to make my own funding if I want any)

I completely agree re rejection. I know intellectually, psychologically that people can't choose everything or everyone. That often meanness, sarcasm, bullying reflect *that person*, their perspective, their suffering, but it doesn't make it feel better at the time.
