a man stopped in the middle of the road today, in his SUV, and got out - cars coming all around. He walked into the road in front of the car and bent down to pick up a hedgehog and move it onto the grass, clear of the pavement.
Well done Mr. Man, whoever you are. Thank you for taking the time to care.
I've not been here much. life got busy. visitors. term. and I'm taking a course with Howard Rheingold where part of the course is being in a community (walled garden - so takes me away from here)
I'll write about it after - it's about collective intelligence and is very interesting to participate, and learn from a great bunch of people.
if you're watching now- there's a guy jamming on a wooden flute in the bottom left of the screen. I LOVE THIS! (at about 9min 30 in the recording) ps it is 2am here
@webmind@RussSharek@dirt related but tangental- I've been thinking a lot about the difference between should, ought, and could - especially where the 'should and ought' are dictated by someone else (parent/teacher/partner/boss) whereas the 'could' is like stepping onto fresh sand.
It takes time to undo. Years.
A great joy has been seeing my children not have the shoulds and oughts that I did.
@dadegroot we made this yesterday and I know it's totally the wrong time of year to make it, but it was SO yummy. :) (and it made up for my miserably failed sourdough) lasted about 20 seconds out of the oven!
in just over a week I'm doing an event- it's a 24 hour performance of Herbie Hancock's Chameleon that will be streamed. You're all invited to take part - either as audience, performers, or supporters (please share with anyone who might want to sponsor- either on or off Mastodon) All info is here: https://wp.me/P4Ng5z-1hE#Jazz24Live#music#fundraiser#school#LA#jazz
