(Am not saying that beards are the exclusive domain of only a particular gender though, of course not. There are women who have beards, as example of fact, and imo they do not lose their femininity and/or goodstanding for having them.)

Some say the $350 Nike Adapts are too expensive. There are other Nike's, Adidas'es, Puma's etc that cost at least twice that and have no "tech" at all.
In the "ideal" world, no sneaker would cost more than $20.
(Solution: never buy any sneaker worth more than $20? Perhaps...)

Interesting advice. Not applicable to all situations though imo. At least me myself I am fully, completely, and utterly burnt out of any & all forms of social activism.
