@Nomadwarmachine If it is indeed a 'happy' place. The folks I'm thinking about are the folks who know that it presents real risks and concerns for them, but continue to stay.

@dajbelshaw Yes! I think a lot of long time Twitter users, many of whom are educators I admire struggle so much with leaving. They grew friendships on it, built a shared history (and often a career) there. It makes it hard to walk away from.

I've been recently conflicted about the gaslighting risks that come with deleting vs. the surveillance risks that come with not deleting.

So, has the birdsite changed the T&C again??? I read something yesterday about ownership of tweets. I *think* it means that no matter what you tweet (inc. original artwork/photos), you hand ownership to the Big T. Pretty crap for anyone sharing their own artwork there. Will this be the last straw and boost Mastodon numbers?

Suddenly realizing the way to get myself to do things I don't really want to do, is to put a sticky note with a list of things I need to do, but really, really don't want to do on my computer.
Suddenly the first list of things I was avoiding is getting done (though no action on the sticky note items)

@fgraver @lauraritchie Somehow we all fumble through. I don't wish my path on her but neither can I wish for her a life lived in safety, without risk.
Today I seem to be drawing wisdom from Finding Nemo and The Tale of Despereaux, with a little Winnie the Pooh thrown in for good measure. It likely *won't* "all be fine," but it is the start of an new adventure!
