I wanna give a shout out to @up201705417 who is the Google Summer of Code student I am unofficially mentoring.
He is working very hard on a GNU/Social ActivityPub plugin and its really cool to work with him!

Just did a quick write-up of @prismo , a federated alternative to Reddit. It's powered by #ActivityPub!
@mayel they said no one has yet attempted to but they would be happy if someone did. They also seemed to be totally down for federation / #ActivityPub and sounded like if someone wanted to work on that and submit a patch they would be all for it! (though they said they don't have the resources currently to work on it themselves)
@colomar @ohyran AFAIK linking with the existing #fediverse apps is the reason both #PeerTube and #PixelFed chose #ActivityPub as their means of federating
@ignitionigel another kiwi? Awesome. I hope #Mastodon supports whatever #ActivityPub equivalent of !groups is eventually, so we can set up a new !kiwi pub and find each other in the #fediverse
@zinat is a similar project to pixelfed, written in python by @yabirgb. We have worked together and as a result our APIs will be compatible!
A zinat mobile app will work with a pixelfed instance and vice versa! #federation #activitypub #zinat
@eric do you know if #Known have made any progress on their planned #ActivityPub implementation?
@Michcioperz @Karneolius @Wolf480pl
> "when you're using hammer for everything"
#Mastodon is a hammer, #ActivityPub is the toolbox. If you want to federate a web tool that isn't federated yet, why create a whole new federation toolbox, instead of just putting that tool in the toolbox we already have?
@maradydd @rysiek @webmind that sounds like a valuable project. If you were to use a #Hubzilla site for the calendar, we may be able to interact with it via #ActivityPub (follow the calendar channel, get notifications etc) as well as viewing it the usual way as a web page ...
@Michcioperz @Karneolius @Wolf480pl sure but #ActivityPub != Mastodon or just microblogging. It's also #Hubzilla (blogging), #PixelFed (photos), #PeerTube (videos), and hopefully soon #GitPub (code). Why not forums?
@wion @kensanata there are already #ActivityPub apps (compatible with #Mastodon), like #Hubzilla, which are intended for blogging, and don't have the headache-inducing, multi-column UI . Why not use one of those instead of trying to turn Mastodon into something it's not?
@LWFlouisa @cwebber also, I suspect that the #ActivityPub protocols, the standard that is (or will be) replacing #OStatus and already has on #Mastodon, have built in better cross-network filtering tools than have the #Diaspora protocols, possibly for the same reason. I suspect if Diaspora doesn't do the work to support multiple protocols, so their users can connect directly with users on the AP #fediverse, they will become irrelevant.
"ActivityPub in Go
Lessons from a journey"
...is now available!

This answers:
- Why create a library?
- What challenges are there when implementing ActivityPub?
- What challenges are specific to golang?
- What is go-fed and its future?
Most useful for those interested in:
- Background information.
- Implementing AP apps or libs
- Unique AP challenges in Go
- WTF is this cj person thinking
Note: This isn't a go-fed/activity tutorial (ETA: TBD).
Pixelfed now has accounts on mastodon, pleroma, and peertube. Look forward to more! #activitypub #federation
I dont accept ads, or aggressive brand/s accts or paid toots (I’ve been approached) but I do support free & #opensource programs. We have some amazing creative orgs represented on the #Fediverse thru :mastodon: #Mastodon’s super-scalable #ActivityPub implementation.
If you havent tried them then you’re missing out (a-z). U have control over ur social & creative lives w #FLOSS

Comment threads live-update is ready! Couple of things still to be done and the v0.1.0 will be finally released! 🎉
ActivityPubConf
A yearly online conference with presentations from AP developers and others, hosted on PeerTube and accessible to everyone. I think this will be my next project!
If you know anyone working on an ActivityPub project and they need any advice/feedback/help or want to spread the word, tell them to DM me! I am more than willing to help or spread awareness! #activitypub #fediverse
@webmind @wakest I really hope the #Diaspora team come around on this. #Zot, the native protocol of #Hubzilla is totally incompatible with #ActivityPub, yet they manage to federate with AP.
300 followers! :) Update: i'm back from holidays and working hard on Prismo, official instance should be online in upcoming week.
Out of curiosity: anyone have any (near-to-)production experience with spectre.css? Is it worth trying as a bootstrap alternative?
