    Appears Matrix.org is having more issues. IMO, #Matrix would be well-served by featuring a /try or /join page on the main site that redirects randomly to an open-registration homeserver from a curated list of reliable instances.

    Well, the alternatives where already mentioned. (and didn't got any comment). #Mattermost, #rocketchat, #matrix, #IRC, …

    If you want to get as close as possible to slack but without vendor lock, Mattermost is the way to go.

    But to me it seems like the decision is already made, it just wants a justification in this issue.
