Gas comes into the trailer, because the stove works, so I assume the issue is at the pilot. I'll try the soapy water trick (I know that works for lines, didn't think to apply it to the actual pilot hole).

So I attempted to light the 44-year-old propane furnace in my trailer. Rather than explode, it simply won't start. The pilot won't light. All the connections seem fine, but there's a fair bit of rust (though not much, given the age), so maybe the gas line to the pilot is clogged and/or corroded?

Chilled "lemon drop" rooibos (rooibos tea with lemongrass and citrus flavour) with gin and a couple dashes of orange bitters... *chef kiss*

It's definitely a sipper and more than one or two would probably be too much, but it's a nice drink, especially if you get fancy and drink it from a china teacup.

"Pull yourself up by your bootstraps" was originally satire because that is, um, impossible. It's now stated without irony.

"Just a few bad apples," when referring to police, conveniently ignoring the full aphorism ials actually: One bad apple *spoils the bunch.*

Wheels retightened and hubcaps removed/reinstalled, so that's not a mystery in the event in need to change a tire on the side of the road. This trailer is ready to roll! But it probably needs a new battery for times we don't have access to shore power.

That said, I'd better make sure the battery has a full charge and figure out the solar system I bought last fall.

Trailer now has new, safe tires and we successfully got it backed into its nook in our backyard (a space which, I suspect, is harder to get into than a lot of campsites due to the multiple fences and narrow alley). Lesson #1: wife backs up and I give direction; doing it the other way was an exercise in frustration so we'd better play to our strengths.

Tomorrow, I need to retighten the wheels and then we're good for the summer!

Trailer successfully dropped at the tire shop. First time towing anything was mildly nerve-wracking at first, but quickly became pretty cool. Backing it up was, to put it mildly, a challenge. That'll take some practice before we go camping and have to back into a site.

@mpjgregoire @allan Yeah, stars are one thing I miss, living so close to downtown. Growing up, despite light pollution, there were always a decent amount of stars and even the northern lights on occasion. I wonder how much you can still see at my parents' house, now that the area around them is more built up than when I was a kid.

@keithzg Not watching the debates, but from what I've read she's pretty good on foreign policy (and even when she's not great, she's still generally challenging US imperialism, so that's a plus). If I were American, Bernie would probably still be my guy, but it's interesting to see the other candidates and how many are now positioned solidly on the left side of liberalism, which is huge shift for a country as politically conservative as the USA.

@sconlan So, unlike the Ancient Greeks, the Romans didn't think big dicks were a sign of savagery and lack of civilization? Truly, the Ancient Romans were the first chuds.
