People disparagingly say "vanilla sex" as if vanilla's simplicity doesn't make it the most versatile type of ice cream to use in the bedroom.

We received Henry's ashes today. He was so small to begin with, that the urn we choose can fit in the palm of my hand. A whole life unlived, in the palm of my hand.

@gatewave I've heard of it! It's supposedly quite. Good, but I don't think I've ever seen it here.

@michel_slm Thanks. It's been hard. We brought his ashes home today. It seems like every other day there is a new step in the process, so grief is just new but not really less.

@gatewave Beyond Meat is good. I've never cooked my own, but have tried it at two different fast food places and it was comparable to beef. Lightlife is a new player (older company, but new to "realistic" fake meat), but probably pretty similar. But, yeah, I'm curious.

@keithzg That's a good point. There is some room for variation across provinces, I imagine.

Beyond Burgers are now available in my local meat department, along with Lightlife (pseudo-Canadian competitor, since they're owned by Maple Leaf, but I'm pretty sure they're manufactured in the US). When I regain the motivation to grill, I'll have to buy a pack of each and do a taste test.

The government really wanted to shrink the black market without meaningfully ending prohibition, eh? The rules around dry flower are restrictive, but not like this. But many people don't want to smoke, so if you make the stuff they actually want a pain in the ass... Problem "solved," I guess?

@FssOfDeath As well as can be expected, I guess. Thanks for checking in. We've had visitors almost every night since we found out he'd died, which has been a big help.

@mpjgregoire I feel a bit better. Not good, but better. We had a really raw night a few nights ago (Tuesday, maybe? It blurs together right now) and letting everything out seemed to help.

Henry will be cremated at 1 p.m. this afternoon, so I'll be thinking about that while it happens.

Thanks for the info. I used Tusky back in the day, switched to Fedilab months ago because I heard it was better. Reinstalling @Tusky right now.
