@kelbot Hmm, that looks like an interesting project though, I might consider that instead.
Have a Nook Simple Touch right now, but mostly looking for an upgrade just for a warm backlight.

@kev I absolutely adore Liverpool and wish I could live there, but the few times I've gone I haven't had time to cross The Mersey into Wirral. I hope I can change that for my next visit :)
A couple of people from various instances have mentioned that #Mastodon is confusing at first. So I decided to write a comprehensive guide on how to get started with Mastodon.
Hopefully this helps new users to Mastodon. Please do Boost if you feel it could be useful to others.
@hund @matt @kelbot Hmm I'll have to look into that. I feel like I add a few bookmarks and within a week there are like 30 more :P
We have another #Librem5 progress report for everyone.
"Designing the scope of the Librem 5’s communication apps" by @feeef, our Director of Creative
@codesections @kelbot I still have my Gmail (not on my phone) and check it once every few months. I'm just afraid there's one thing I haven't moved over or something so I still have it activated. Will probably delete later this year though
This is quoted from Discords terms of service:
"By uploading, distributing, transmitting or otherwise using Your Content with the Service, you grant to us a perpetual, nonexclusive, transferable, royalty-free, sublicensable, and worldwide license to use, host, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and display Your Content in connection with operating and providing the Service."
@mike It's pretty close honestly, it's something terrifingly beautiful as you watch it rush towards you. Just as long as you're inside when it hits!
@kelbot I wanted something similar, probably around 11" and light enough to easily mount on an apartment wall and take down for moving.
@kelbot My final plan is to have it set up on a Pi or something with a small screen in the kitchen so it's easy to look up our favorite recipes. I'll get there eventually...
@kelbot Yup, have it here! https://salsa.debian.org/prescott-guest/pypantry
I feel like I'm actually getting the hang of Python now too. It helps that I started off with an easy chat bot to get some bad habits out of the way first before they stuck around.
In honor of the storms going on in Arizona right now, here's a cool picture I took of a haboob right before it reached me.
Along with the desert sun, they're really pretty. But at a distance :P
@kelbot It really is. The CLI for my recipe program works great (just need to add in one more key feature), but I don't see her using that often. Still have to make some sort of easy GUI, but I've been dragging my feet and just overall have been too busy to look into it
@codesections @hund @ignitionigel @cameron I just use brutaldon.online for Mastodon, either in qutebrowser or lynx. Not quite vim-like, but better keyboard use than vanilla Masto.
@brandon There can be a pretty big difference! I like to pretend I'm a hipster and get coffee directly from the source, but I swear there's a difference! Slight flavor profiles are more noticeable for sure
@brandon I have one and it's lovely. I don't use cream, but my coffee is very slightly roasted or not at all, so you can really see the different colors each different coffee brings. Makes morning coffee a bit better :)
@codesections Git's isn't as bad for sure, but my git usage is pretty limited to small personal projects. I've gotten a bit better with it, but whenever I want to look at anything GPG related, I'm always going back to the man page and searching stuff online to try and remember what the hell I'm supposed to do :P
The only thing more confusing than git's CLI and myriad of obscure options is gpg's even more atrocious CLI and myriad of even more obscure options.
Windows 10 reboots, the number one cause of low productivity in offices around the world
@kura It's the waiting time that kills me. I feel like it gets worse each sucessive attempt. I always end up getting the "Please try again" message -.-
