@Elizafox I miss a lot of hometowns too albeit for different reasons, Ive left behind quite a few places Id rather have stayed. I want to make it as easy as possible for people to escape abusive situations, but what can we do systematically if people decide to stay in horrible situations when they are in over their heads?

Dont say law enforcement. We both know thats not a feasible solution for a lot of communities.

@Elizafox true, but when the people around you are hostile to your existence is it really home? (disclosure: ive always moved a lot so the idea of a dedicated home in one spot on earth has never stuck with me)

It really is hard to move, but to me at least that has always been the cure for a hostile community. I am trying to leverage teh principle of Occupancy and Use to make it as easy as possible.

its not perfect, but I feel it has the potential to be better then what we have today

@Elizafox I guess what I am saying is that if our homes and our workplaces merge, and our coworkers and our communities merge, and if we can come to a point where we are not bound to land out of fear of capital and we can easily pack up, leave, and re set up with a new group of people in whatever unused / co-occupied land we can find, we can create a society where maybe nothing is perfect but our needs are filled in a more respectful and humane manner.

Its the drunk utopian in me speaking.

@Elizafox beyond an evolution of the workplace I think that by dissolving private property we can create a climate where these identity groups can be formed and utlilized by as many people as possible.

Now I cant speak for communists as I am not one, but as a mutualist my end game is to decentralize the means of the production as much as possible and to try to blur the lines between artistic expression, productive enterprise, and our own searches for fulfilment as much as possible

@Elizafox Hey as an anarchist I really understand this criticism. Maybe I can posit a few ideas as to how to handle this situation.

Association is a pwoerful thing, and I think that people creating cooperative enterprises (communes or otherwise) together may end up forming dependable identity groups full of people who act as a cohesive unit and defend eachother / create safe spaces for eachother.

I mean if any states could pull it off it would be CA,OR,WA as they are not against taxing their residents and as states they provide valuable infrastructure to their citizens.

It would certainly be a lot more viable then say Texas leaving the union.
