I also want to hammer something here: I lived and have relations with the old Idaho conservative world. They didn't use to roll like this, and the Trump crew would never have been acceptable a few years ago.

@clhendricksbc modern mass protests that are not situational and local to where the problem is are STUPENDOUSLY ineffective outside of generating networks and camaderie. See: Iraq war protests, Women's march, BLM, etc. It ain't the 60s anymore...

The most effective low-effort remote help is likely donations to the ACLU.

More direct help is almost certainly organizing with the Democrats and/or the DSA.

@shel yes, the wall is "if I am arrested and charged with a felony and it sticks, likely my family will be homeless and their critical health care & support that my job funds go away, maybe my baby dies". Taking a stand has to be clearly worth *that*.

try not to trivialize people who don't stand up with "maybe you won't be able to play a video game".
