In short: it wasn't the advert content, it was the involvement of Greenpeace. Seems like nonsense, to me.

Sometimes people can become distant as a protection against being rejected. Being rejected from friendships or relationships. If they are being nice and are rejected, it can feel awful. If on the other hand they are being distant, it is sending out a message "I don't care". Of course, internally they can also justify being rejected because they were being distant.

The film isn't intended to be a history lesson, but some context would help. Also, sympathy for a character sobbing in the loo is limited when we just discovered he earned $250k.

Considering the confined locations, cinematography is top notch.

Not sure Jeremy Irons quite pulled-off his role, Terence Stamp, as a similar character, in Wall Street (1987) was better.

Mary McDonnell had a blink-and-you-missed-it appearance. Did she end up on the cutting room floor? Shame!

On today's #DogWalk my #Scottie friend didn't want to be photographed, so I took these shots instead.

Reindeer lichen - Cladonia portentosa

The Reindeer lichen are the lighter coloured, bushy (fruticose) objects in the centre of each photo. Confusingly, reindeer lichen is used for more than one species.

They have a holdfast which anchors the lichen, in this case, to a rotten log. The lichen in photo 1 is ~10cm across.

The addition of moss & grass gives the appearance of a mini shrub garden.

So, that's the explanation for them growing everywhere (particularly where you don't want them).

Almost surprising no-one had researched it before. I think I'll try to create a vortex with an old umbrella, without a covering.

There is room in the #Fediverse for both single & multi-topic posters. Is that what you mean by "channel"?

I tend to only post on topics listed on my profile page, but sometimes stray onto other subjects (particularly when commenting on posts by others).

I do follow some people who only post on single topics. However, my home timeline still has diversity because I have a wide range of single topic posters. I also follow many people who post on diverse topics.

Looking out the kitchen window, this morning, I saw a:

Stoat - Neas mhòr - Mustela erminea

Lovely animal that looks really cute, but is a ferocious predator. It was likely attracted by all the bird activity, after I put out food for them.

It seemed to be aware of me as we had eye contact for a few seconds before it bounded off.
