@clacke
Many thanks for the fulsome explanation.
I've never been a Friendica user, so I wasn't aware of this issue. I understand solving this problem would be a tough nut to crack.
I'll just need to stay vigilant. π

@DetectiveHyde
Are you asking me if I'm a pagan?
Interesting subject, but I'm not a pagan.
@clacke
Any idea why? Should this be a bug report?
I liked "your" post before realising it was posted by Mike (I then liked his post, too). Is that like visible to you?
@clacke
I always get two posts from you, when you boost someone else's content. One copy looks like a normal re-post, the other one looks like you posted the content. See screenshot, for an example. That second copy still has the original poster included, but it is easy to miss.
It might lead me to attributing something to you, when it wasn't.
Is this some weird #Friendica / #Mastodon interaction or something else?
Ideas?
@DetectiveHyde
"nobility of conduct"
I'll use that π

@Wimpress
Well, that's a bit sneaky.
That wimpysworld.io link is just a re-direct to Instagram.
No thanks.

Some of the "noble" families would have their genesis in some tough guy with a bigger club. Whether these people were bandits or just another local, we wouldn't know, as it typically happened in pre-history times.
Once some of these families were established others could join through patronage, marriage & favour. Conquest was an occasional alternative.
Over time systems were put in place (feudalism, manorialism) to maintain the hierarchical structures.
My doggie companion came over and sniffed my morning mug of coffee. He immediately sneezed and jumped backwards about 20cm, as if he had been presented with some horrible poison.
Does he know something I don't?
In a lovely piece of irony, Europe's first ever #GDPR violation notice has been served on a Canadian analytics firm that campaigned for #Brexit.
The Register is reporting that AggregateIQ is facing a potential β¬20 million fine. The article also links the firm to the Facebook-Cambridge Analytica scandal.

Honeypot.

Pumpkin seeds aren't bad. Sesame seeds (also toasted) are a good alternative, but toasted sunflower are the best.
Photo is of the bunched beetroot (arrangement) that all three of our local supermarkets now sell. Previously, beetroot was available loose, without stalks and cost 68p per kg. The bunches cost Β£3 per kg (though the one in the photo was on a special).
The two photos were taken 50m apart. However, I suspect it is quite likely that it is the same organism producing these two sets of fruiting bodies.
Honey Fungus has been identified as one of the largest single organisms on earth. One in Michigan, USA was estimated to cover an area of 15 hectares and weighing 9.5 tonnes. Larger ones may exist.
September is fungi time in the #Highlands. Actually, mycelium is always there, it is just that we see the fruiting bodies now.
Bulbous Honey Fungus - Armillaria gallica
The first photo shows the younger fungus (more rounded) growing on a tree stump.
The second photo shows older fungus (more flattened & dark patches spread) growing where the tree roots are.
This is one of 70 species of bioluminescent fungus. The mycelium glows green.

Seems to me that the Pinebook might satisfy the requirement for an ultra-cheap netbook. In which case the low specs aren't a problem. Just add Internet access and you are sorted.
At this low price, the battery will likely be sub-optimal. The low specs might mitigate this problem.
True. It has been clear for a long time that the Blairites would rather lose an election to the Tories just to get rid of Corbyn.
The "pinnacle" of these attempts was the Hilary Benn speech applauding further air-strikes against Syria (2015). Real Labour people must have recognised Benn for what he is & what he was attempting to do.
I'm not a member of any party, but it is clear to me that all the political parties need to be reclaimed by their memberships not left in the hands of the elites.
@MatejLach
He did well with the leadership challenge. I don't know enough about internal #Labour mechanisms, but if JC is to survive he needs to instigate -re-selections for MPs. The members need MPs that represent their views not that of a war-mongering former leader. JC also needs more support within the parliamentary party.
If JC could achieve that it would reduce the attacks because there would be less reason to do it.
@MatejLach
Calls for Jeremy Corbyn to resign won't stop, until he steps-down. I'm not saying he should resign, I'm just describing what will happen. JC has made many miss-steps, but he would be a order of magnitude better than May.
A very similar thing happened with Michael Foot. At least, MF didn't have to contend with sniping Blairites. From a leadership perspective JC needs to have a stronger grip on his party.
