They say the Internet killed the #BBS, but they really just changed form. Facebook, for example, is just that lame chat BBS full of nothing but drama.

@szbalint a lock-avoiding clone of dlmalloc which is tuned to avoid allocation of large bins, this provides the lock avoidance aspects of jemalloc with the heap fragmentation avoidance of dlmalloc

in other words it's both fast and memory commit efficient

beatles definitely started out as pop, maybe some later tracks have more of a rock feel to them, but overall they are poppy. and some rock tracks can also have a poppy feel (that is basically what rockabilly is about)

    @er1n

i mean, natives did not really "save" 9/11

in reality the people on flight 93 were probably people who were like "fuck it, we're going to die anyway, may as well fuck up these terrorists shit"

in all reality, i would expect any reasonably sane person to get up and kick ass and take names in such a situation regardless of how white they are or otherwise

seriously everything ESR posts any more is the hottest of hot takes

for example, rock music is only allowed to be the beatles in ESR land (which is funny because the beatles were actually a pop act) and what we know as "modern rock" is really blues.

i mean, personally i would consider something along the lines of everlast (ESR probably does not even know who everlast is) to be a close analog to modern blues.

but overall, modern rock is modern rock, and the beatles were never ever a fucking rock band

somebody should really check to make sure ESR is taking his medications as prescribed

    oh, i missed this gem:

"The brave men and women of Flight 93, who prevented September 11 2001 from being an even darker day than it was, were heroes in the best American tradition of bottom-up decentralized response."

the original article he discusses mentions that bottom-up decentralized response is largely a quality inherited from native culture (e.g. mine)

so, in a way, he is calling white people (himself?) sheep.

this is what i mean when i say that ESR is an idiot

seriously, somebody should hint to ESR that maybe he should have a cognitive eval done, because lately his hot takes are even worse than normal.

i am kind of concerned really, he's trumpin

okay, so the theory goes that white people switched from using long rifles (matchlocks) to flintlock pistols because of larger concern of decentralized "threats"

in reality, the "threats" were bandits and vigilantes, almost all of the time, they were not natives.

native attacks happened in result of the colonists messing with their stuff, mostly. you know, typical white people "i do what i want, even if it fucks up other people's shit" mentality. that tends to piss people off.

but back to my point, it was *really* about vigilantes and bandits (criminality), not native raids.

and of course, the US won the revolutionary war by using the raid tactics that the natives used and employing them on massive scale

the rest of his Internet cat meme demonstrates that natives liked flintlocks better because they behaved more like bows which of course is nonsense because actually a long rifle would behave more like a bow.

then it breaks down into some pseudo-libertarian nonsense which is why the libertarian party will never get even 5% of the vote in any major election ever

    worst hot take ever

i violated my own rule on ESR and got to see a wonderful white person analysis of the intersection of my culture and gun culture in America.

said analysis is completely off the mark as is usual for ESR

i reiterate: the world would be a better place if people pretended ESR did not exist
