@efraim I agree with this so much. I wonder if there are studies done on the comparative consistency of grammar across languages. -

Teaching my daughter English at home and doing homework with her in Hebrew I have to say, English sucks. No consistant rules, everything is a special case, no consistancy in conjugating, English just plain sucks. I am so glad she's learning now and can have it as a native language and not have to figure it out later. If it wasn't lingua franca I'm not sure I would push her as hard to get English right.

Something something mmx
Something something systemd-resolved
Something something heartbleed
I can accept arguments of "no better option" when it comes to processors for instance but the people who ignore vulns and then get owned by them I have zero sympathy for, and the fact that the people that told us about these vulns get so consistently ignored unless they have one of the Big Names TM behind them is pretty damn telling. They accept it not because of the severity of the vuln or how well its proven, but because it comes from The Authority - despite the fact we basically know most of these big tech companies by hook or by crook are in the US intelligence community's pocket and aren't going to protect us from the most egregious exploits. -

@stigatle Though it may fall victim to the same biases as other "rich tech dude" algorithm driven movements. -

@stigatle Taking a look at the idea of effective altruism. Interesting stuff. -

It's only been a year and a half, but I'm surprised at the amount of calculus I remember. Good reviewing for the past few days. -

Wouldn't it be neat if someone hunted down all the #creativecommons and open #RPG lore, and talked about it on a #podcast?
You could hear about a bunch of lore, then use it in your #tabletop game design or fiction writing or #art.
A patchwork, #opensource Forgotten Realms.
Introducing....
I've got 27 recorded for weekly release but if you know of good CC or open (no Product Identity) content I can review, tell me about it. If you want to contribute an ep, contact me.

Is it at all permissible to mix American and British English in writing and speech? I accidentally do it more and more often lately. -

Lisp memory dumping seems to be affecting the reproducibility of packages besides GCL as well. The details are beyond my current knowledge.
