@SirBemrose I also wonder if the reason is their thinking defies logic/common sense. So, a blanket policy is next to impossible, because there's no way to articulate the ever-growing list of infractions and sins, unlike: love your neighbor as your self.

Thus, rather than adhere to something that is sensible, they have to enumerate every variation of transgression, like the book of Leviticus.

Heaven help the offender. Social Justice knows no mercy.

Why do social justice advocates always insist on explicitly listing the dozen or so ways that Thou Shalt Not Discriminate, rather than adopting a blanket be nice policy?

The only reason I can think of is to make it easier and more acceptable to discriminate based on reasons that didn't make the list.

@SirBemrose Agreed. Especially when these same companies claim they are not in the content business and they are just providing a platform. They want it both ways: no responsibility/liability for what users post on their platform, but total control over what gets posted.

I wonder if someone can use the censorship actions to sue them for copyright infringement, proving they are no mere impartial platform, and thus responsible for everything posted. That would sort things out in a hurry.

@gmcgath Good point. I should have said third greatest. America has had multiple movements away from its liberty-loving beginnings.

Still, that previous generations had examples of government tyranny in does not lessen the severity of the current generation's tyranny.
