@brian I'm not sold on Mycroft personally (or assistants in general to be fair). Mycroft in particular though seems to be massively behind the competition. Sure, there's the open source/privacy aspect, but I'd prefer to not use an assistant at all, than maintain my privacy and use a sub standard product. Just my opinion though. π
Real pet hate of mine is when podcasters put their titles as "<podcast-name> Episode XXX".
It gives zero context as to the contents of the episode, so we then have to hunt through the show notes (assuming there are any). If you own a podcast, please don't do this. Pretty please.
So this weekend I will be attempting to patch my server against Meltdown & Spectre (Digital Ocean have a process for it). However, I'm very likely to brick my server, I imagine. πππ
@ChrisWere Just watched your latest video on the REALLY minimal website design. I havenβt gone as far as you on my website, but Iβm very much with you - a site should be about its content, not its pictures and JavaScript. https://kevq.uk if youβre interested.
@brian I've has much the same experience. I switched to brave for a while, but found the blocking frustrating to use also. I'm back on chrome on my mobile devices.
@welshgeekboy I thought if you deactivates your account, all services are gone with it. I'd imagine logging in to messenger.com would re-activate your account. I have no idea though, I'm just speculating.
@staticsafe my general rule of thumb (and the advice I give out) is; if <company> is asking you to do something in said email and you're not expecting it (e.g. pw reset), it's probably fake. If you're not sure, contact them via other means - live chat on site, contact form, email direct etc.
Folks, I have a small motorbike YouTube channel with around 3k subscribers. However, Iβm pretty disenfranchised with YT and Iβm thinking about swapping it to a podcast. Can anyone recommend any good podcast hosting sites? I could host myself, but Iβd rather save the storage space.
@miwilc thanks. I'm currently hosting my personal site with Digital Ocean, only because I had some credit saved up with them. Once that's gone, I'll be moving away. Was thinking either Linode, or openvz.io I'll check these guys out too though. π
