@mastohost I can personally recommend ClouDNS.net I've used them for years and they're superb.

@Gargron when we enable the timeline preview within the admin console, it shows the federated timline, not the local timeline. Is that by design? If so, why?

Instances want to show off the conversations taking place on their instance to try and encourage new users to join, that's pointless if it shows the federated timeline within the preview.

@kungtotte @codesections there's a much lower barrier to entry with alternative tools. The whole concept of nickserv commands would be alien to most users, yet they will likely need them.

@ mentioning and being able to upload media natively (especially for support) is more simple.

IRC is more simple, no doubt about that. But the alternatives are much easier to use and offer more convenience.

@unicornfarts @codesections I personally have the people I follow, but then. I add the REALLY interesting people to a list so I can keep a closer eye on what they're up to.

@codesections haven't used IRC in a decade. I don't really get why it's still a thing when there are much better tools out there.

Thats just my opinion though, and I know I'm in the minority. Il get back under my bridge. 😁
