@frankiesaxx we get what you're saying, and that's exactly what we're trying to avoid. We don't want to be perceived as that guy at the train station, but we also need a simple way of moderating the instance.

We're currently exploring our options for a kind of compromise; we're still ironing out the kinks though.

I don't really see the point in these ultra secure, ultra private email providers. We all know email isn't really that good at security/privacy.

If I have something truly private/confidential to say to someone, I won't use email.

Honestly though, I don't think I've ever REALLY had a need for such a service. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I deleted my #Facebook account around 6 months ago, and I just deleted my #Twitter account.

That means #Mastodon (or #Fosstodon to be more accurate) is the _only_ social network that I am a memebr of.

@unicornfarts yeah, it's a double edged sword. I just discovered a feature in Mastalab that may help, if you're and android user.

Hit the little globe icon at the bottom left, enter the url for an instance and it will show you a public timeline from that instance. I've moved from tusky purely for that feature alone.

@unicornfarts I completely agree with @ignitionigel. The fed timeline is like the wild West, I actually don't remember the last time I went there.

Like Nigel, I also unfollow people when it all gets political within Masto.

I didn't see what happened, but it sounds like I was lucky to have not.
