@mooshoe yeah. I'm on mate, so it's very useful. It goes a bit further than Gnome search though, as it has extensions you add. So I can search DDG, amazon, eBay, my Spotify, generate passwords etc. It's really cool.

I'm still not seeign any specific references to Disqus embedding adverts in to comments though?

@sheogorath where? I can't see any specific references to Disqus posting adverts within comments?

I highly respect Scott, so I'd definitely like to hear his opinions on this, if he has them.

Personally, I've never seen adverts within a Disqus thread, and this post is pretty old (2014). Has anyone else come across this behaviour? If so, I'm going to have to re-think using Disqus on my personal site.

I found myself logging in first thing in the morning, then getting frustrated and even angry at times at the collosal amounts of rubbish on there.

I may rejoin one day, just to keep up with close friends and family, but if I do (big if), then I would be _very_ selective of who I add.

@alex I simply don't use them, so I don't see the point in maintaining them. I considered keeping Twitter, just so I could keep @kevquirk, but then it occurred to me - I'm not using it, so why should I care.

I did have a placeholder on Twitter for a while, but I don't really care that its gone.

@codesections oh don't get me wrong, I think we're all entitled to our privacy and think we should do what we can to maintain it. My point was that if Google is the extreme snooper, and Proton is the extreme anti-snooper, I don't think that being extremely "Proton" offers much more over being somewhere in the middle of that scale.

Does that even make sense?
