@kev
that's why I have pleroma...
A fediverse aware blog engine that federates the first 500 characters of a blog entry and allows fediverse style replies/conversation would be pretty cool though.

My youngest trying out the retrogaming laptop by answering his call of duty (training)
Win XP on a Compaq n1020v 2.4GHz Pentium 4, 1024MB RAM with a radeon 340m using 64 MB of that
Suggestions for suitable LAN games welcomed as I have another to set up, and possibly a third laptop of similar spec too.

@ViletteAlex
Its XP, I was gonna go with 98se, but figured as I picked up 2 x compaq n1020v laptops for <£5 each lat month Id set up XP on both and get some lan games on them for the kids.
BTW if dealing with dodo like OSs, take care how you connect them to the interwebs for d/loading stuff.

I ran my own self hosted email server for a period of about 9 or 10 months using ISP3config, it worked well within that time but before that it was was a bitch to configure correctly so that google did not register emails as spam (was more involved than just setting dkim & dmarc values)
The maintenance however was too intensive in comparison to hosted email so I decided to move to a domain hosted email
I currently use zoho's free domain hosted email[0], and get a good email service and access to some cool web apps, its one of only 3 monetary free domain hosted email service providers I could locate[1],[2] which I did not try.
Im hoping brexit does not mess up my current free hosting arrangement...

Managed to get a series 3 dock for my x220 for just £15.00 +£5.52 postage now in place and mostly configured , best thing is it was in new condition and had an official 135watt thinkpad power supply!
Of course the switch over messed up my existing monitor set up but its a small price to pay for such awesomess (2 x DisplayPort, 2 x DVI, 1 x VGA, 6 x USB 2.0, 1x eSATA 1x Gigabit ethernet ports)

@kensp @sowth
No, sorry rsync does not do http or https, I think rclone does though (which is cloud storage sync tool)
-
@kensp
Have you tried rsync?

Just received the following from 'Apple Account Secure'
"Dear customer,
Your account has been disabled.
We noticed some unusual activities on your account.
To restore your account, You must verify your account as soon as possible."
any activity on an Apple account would be suspicious seeing as I don't have one, muppets.

Question? #askmastodon #askthefediverse
Do you clear your inbox into archives?
Or
Use your inbox as an archive?
-
@bob
Awesome
Thanks for that.

@lain
I'm thankful for pleroma, @bob freedombone and the Armbian project for allowing me to selfhost my own instance, I don't really understand why more folks don't do this its not rocketscience.

What i wanna know is that if Wesley Crusher uses Debian with KDE/Plasma Desktop, what does does that Jean Luc use? (OpenSuse?)
Does Geordi La Forge use a framebuffer only Gentoo with custom Visor interface?
Who on the TNG uses Arch? (Data or Riker?)
Does Worf use Ubuntu, with Unity.. And is the Enterprise Meltdown/Spectre proof?

@h4ck3r9
Sounds like a CNAME redirect to the new domain would be the answer.

Update on the Compaq n1020v install.
After 2 days of trying to get OS/2 installed (OS/2 does not seem to like Pentium 4's) I moved onto instaling Mir OS BSD, its pretty cool but I am still looking..
