@quad@hellpie Well, yes, they are probably numerical puns. (Now to start an email provider named 789...) Also, in China, certain numbers are lucky and or unlucky. There are certain phone numbers that people avoid because they are unlucky or sound like an unfortunate phrase.
The other day, I started wondering whose toots I've favorited most oftenβmostly as a "scientific" way to figure out who to feature on my profile.
One weekend-coding project later, and I can now share an app with all of you: the Tool for Tabulating Thirty Top Tooters (#t5, for short). https://t5.codesections.com.
It scans all the toots you've every favorited and ranks the top thrifty people who you've favorited most often. It's #freeSoftware and I hope you all enjoy!
@skypage Fluoride helps enamel repair itself and there is no doubt about that. The chemical reactions that do so are known. Does it help prevent cavities? Looks very likely to me. Even Cecil Adams seems to agree: https://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2692/is-fluoride-in-water-a-good-thing-or-a-danger/ As for being poisonous? Yes. So is water if you drink too much of it. Is it a chemical? Yes. So is baking soda. Aren't you too smart to buy into conspiracy theories?
So I went to the dentist on Monday about my tooth that was still hurting, and he told me that it was a pretty big filling with a pretty thin layer of enamel left between it and the nerve tissue, and white fillings can contract a bit and what not, so he was hardly surprised that there was a bit of pain and gum bleeding. He told me I shouldn't worry unless it's 2019(!) and it's still hurting. I guess me and paracetamol are going to have an affair again.
I'm probably doing my teeth a ginormous favour these days. I got a tooth polish and a fluoride treatment at the dentist, I brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and I rinse the toothpaste away with 0.02% NaF (sodium fluoride) mouthwash. It's called Flux and tastes like mild mint and fluoride, so I reckon it's healthier than Listerine.

The food calorie database I'm keeping, as rendered on a desktop computer in gallery mode. It's a lot easier to find what you're looking for when there are pictures.
@SuperFloppies I like to stay cool, but I sleep right under my window. I promise you that it's not 10Β°C in your bed even if you sleep with the window open. It definitely *is* 10Β°C in my bed if *I* do, however...
I decided that I needed something a bit more user friendly than a spreadsheet to keep my food calorie table in, so I found an app named Airtable. It works a bit like an Access database or Excel spreadsheet. There's a tabular view, a form view and a gallery view. You can add input fields and computed fields and attach images or other files to entries. There's also support for barcodes.
It's getting colder at night now. 10Β°C. Can't keep the window in the bedroom open anymore. It would be nice to jump on a flight and work from, say, Sicily right now.
