    @freyo Well, there was a burst of inward and outward federation, but then it stopped again.

    @maiyannah I'm wondering whether using something like https://pointer.federati.net//?589b8500d14407e5#bboj/pLdh530xA4F082A8Gty4A2xN/tkjimzxoaiIOY= instead of the upstream GS patch would help #Plateia federate again?

    I am still unenergetic, but I'm planning to launch an instance running #postActiv soon.

    The fix for MySQL 5.7 problems is getting merged into !postActiv now after not having any issues on the dev box and then Plateia for a bit, let me know if anyone has any issues. #postActiv

    @sungo I tested this patch on plateia before I put in in postactiv itself and it's good I did.  HOWEVER, the GNU social nodes using this patch will have the same problem plateia did - cutting connections early, so you're much less likely to see federation from them until that gets fixed.

    @sungo GNU social included a patch recently to try to fix a misbehaving node that would leave connections hanging with just keep-alive packets.  The end result was that feeds ended up cut off early in almost every case, and as a result postActiv (and GNU social) would discard the feeds as malformed, so you would not get passive subscriptions, just salmon direct notifications.
