Sick of being stuck in Real Cunts of Suburbia country. I've just been physically attacked by a man in a Mercedes who was angry that I didn't let him out of a side road.
Everyone here is so angry. I'm tired of Britain. I'm tired of the racist fuckers, the angry red-faced men, the general shitty atmosphere. I want out, and I want out sooner rather than later.
Thinking about Radio Nova in France and their production the other day got me thinking about other radio stations around the world with imaging that's a bit different.
@GreenandBlack Valve's "non hierarchical" structure is a great way of passing blame for poor performance or low productivity from management to the workers.
Didn't produce enough this year? Your fault for not being "out there" enough to put yourself forward for work. Your fault for not being popular enough for people to approach you. It's like constantly having to apply for work.
All the while, tech-bros laud it as some kind of great innovation, because it's their favourite game company.
> Speaking on Radio 4βs Today programme, [security minister Ben] Wallace said: βThis [the Skripal incident] was a brazen and reckless attack at the heart of a very peaceful part of the UK.
So what you're saying, Ben, is that if this had happened in Bradford or Glasgow or Tower Hamlets it would have been less important. Good to know where we stand.
@GreenandBlack I think the main issue isn't down to population growth, but the current system's focus on economic growth at the expense of absolutely everything else. If your economy isn't *growing* at a certain rate each year, you're a failure.
The cheapest way to do that is to make sure the population grows so there are more low-wage worker-consumers, which is why we've got gridlocked streets and railways and a housing crisis.
@Graham_Mitchell The BBC are the worst offenders, they can't make a documentary without putting an irritating piano soundtrack over the whole thing. We stopped watching Blue Planet II half-way through the series because of it!
It can also make stuff difficult to follow for the hard-of-hearing. Yes, there are subtitles, but in the age of mega bandwidth for TV, would it be beyond the limits of ingenuity to have a "no music" option, similar to the options they have for football commentary?
@mayel Sorry for the delayed response - everything descended into chaos the other day.
Thanks for posting this! Interestingly, there aren't many French ads on the Nova online feed anymore. They use some kind of ad-replacement tech to put British ads in the breaks. π¬π§
I love Fip as well, which often seems a bit less talky. Fip is so popular here that people on the South Coast of England transmit it as a pirate!
