    I was lamenting how aprs.fi uses Google Maps in a meeting at the ham radio club today, and how this is a problem for emergency stuff. But then it turns out there's an #APRS thing in Debian called xastir, which is an X program which does APRS stuff and offline OpenStreetMap. So if there's a forest fire or something you give everyone an APRS tracker and you can see where everyone is while out in the woods without needing working internet. Much potential

    I found my old LZO-based texture compressor for Q1 btw, which was needed because reading .pak.gz files was too taxing. The joys of limited RAM and CPU..
