I prefer Slackware because it forces you to set up and understand your environment, which in turn helps you understand the tools you're trying to learn.
There's definitely a learning curve, as there is with pretty much anything. But if you relax into it, ask lots of questions, and hit your head against the table several times, it's super rewarding (and stable).
@ElfLord They're actually legally obligated to count all raisins they have in stock to determine the relative value of just one raisin, and then charge you that amount. It happened to a grocery store I was working at back in '03, brought the whole place to a grinding halt.
Yo - it'd be super rad if my colleague's team was a more diverse. Diversity and inclusion have to be intentional. So if you know an awesome Biz analyst lady, LGBTQ, or other minority, please share that @greenpeace is hiring: https://workfor.greenpeace.org/vacancies/details/business-system-analyst/
@clacke Starts at ep 0602. Lived in my office,car,where-ever from 2009 to 2013. Highly recommended to anyone able to safely do it. Freedom from the landlord /tenant relationship, inability to provide your gov a physical addr beyond 'the corner of Murray and forbes except on cold nights, in which case check the stairwell of 400 Morehead ave', and freedom from $stuff. Life changing.
@dracoMetallium Interesting. The reason I am wondering is because it's also used in the headers for some MicroServices, and I'm not clear about why that's beneficial.
@clacke I think at work, we have a master document with all the includes in it, and they each point to an .adoc, but there are no includes within THOSE .adoc files.
I could be wrong. We don't use it often, and I'm kinda kept away from it because they figure my docbook knowledge is better used with actual docbook.
