Industry and agriculture are far larger uses of water than households.

The energy demands they would require for water are tremendous.

4.18J required to boil 1 gram of water. Each person needs 100L a day (mostly for hygenic purposes). 1L of water weighs 1kg. 100kg of water per person. 418kJ of energy per person per day to desalinate water by evaporation excluding energy required to recondense.

For a city the size of Tulsa that is 188.1GJ a day. On top of the 38.88TJ it needs a day for household use.

This is just for the people, not industry use.

This is why we don't evaporate water for desalination.

I've heard:

3) nothing is changing

And whilst I don't think #3 is true, it's still very.. confusing, as an admin, and as someone who has to go tell people, "nothing of substance is changing" every time she sees it... which is a LOT.

It's a very positive thing for the fediverse, despite all the FUD and untrue rumours circulating.

But my God

On the Mastodon side, Gargron and his privileged inner circle should have done a better job at communicating. I would argue the communication is still somewhat lacklustre and confusing.

The GS and related fork side of things are... not much better at the communication aspect.

I grow sick of it all and just want this to be over with.

HINT: just because you skimmed the Communist Manifesto doesn't make you an expert on Socialism or Communism.

In fact, it puts you behind in a lot of ways.

It's 169 years old. It's older than the US civil war. It predates the Great Depression by 71 years. Capitalism has changed considerably since Marx's time, namely, the fundamental problems.

Much like Freud (btw the Manifesto is older than Freud), it's an old tome that should be considered historically important but not definitive anymore.
