@ajroach42 Hope it goes well! I'm hoping to jump from 2.2 to 2.4 next weekend or the weekend after at the latest. Keeping an eye out for any gotchas in jumping over 2.3 and wondering if I need to provision more resources to accommodate #elasticsearch 🤔
@djsundog AAAAA I had one of these it was fun to play with (dad bought it used at an auction hardly used for super cheap lol). I liked the irony in having a machine called "Rainbow" with a monochrome display. But it could run CP/M, MSDOS, QNX etc...a "Rainbow" of OSes
And that goofy dual floppy drive with a common spindle motor where one disk went upside down from the other and they couldn't read at the same time? They don't make them like they used to 😜
@vertigo and the pictures that accompany this listicle? Bunch of guys holding a big snake for Python, the slippers from Wizard of Oz movie for Ruby...a PICTURE OF TAYLOR SWIFT FOR SWIFT??
Are mainstream publications starting to puke out bot generated listicles of their own now rather than just selling ad space to clickbait pushers?
@ocdtrekkie@krruzic I'm OK with commercial use of the fediverse and there is already a little bit of it going on, mostly in free/libre tech based ventures (Purism and elementary OS have Mastodon accounts for example). But commercial is not just marketing/advertising. It is one thing to announce or support a product and quite another to use our personal data against us to deliver creepy targeted ads.
Also businesses should have dedicated instances so that there is better delineation.
@ink_slinger@krruzic I enjoyed the GtG movies, though I'm not a comics enthusiast and gravitate towards the odd stuff that doesn't take itself too seriously so I liked Deadpool more (probably also because it wasn't part of the MCU proper too lol)
Deadpool gave me hope that maybe even a "Howard the Duck" done *right* is not impossible.
@mulander@Michcioperz yes this! I have only ever participated in the fediverse through my own instance which is just me and a handful of very occasional users, so my federated timeline still looks very similar to my home timeline, yet it is just enough "extra" that I can slowly grow my connections.
If you aren't up to the task of self hosting at least pick a small instance that has a community compatible with your interests. Works better than any algorithmic filters have done!
@cypnk can't remember if I shared videos of this guy before, but if you are in proximity to a stream the latest video in the series shows how a hydro system is feasible in all - weather conditions.
Ah tiens, je ne l'ai pas encore dit ici mais la nouvelle version de Tryton est sortie. C'est la dernière qui tournera encore sur python 2. La version 5.0 tournera uniquement sur 3 🕺 🎆 …
@zeezeemoomoo looks closer than it really was. Kind of like when big stuff is all that is on your mind and you are sh!tposting to try to get your mind off it lol
