@TheGibson Wasn't it only 10+ year old AMD machine that were effected? Where would you even GET a stock of those to test?

@djsundog What is really crazy: how many of them went to the same high school in Burlington, Ontario. (Look up how many early 2000s hits went to Lester B Pearson high school.)

@gemlog TO be honest, I don't understand the math behind why each shape. But yeah, atoms stilling in place is one shape, atoms moving around is another.

@gemlog Not sure what linear thing.
Basically, if I excite the vibrations modes, nothing interrupts them and they fall back to ground sate you get Lorenzian lineshape. This is what you see in solids normally.
If they bump into one another that shortens the lifetimes, and you get Gaussian lineshape.

@gemlog I'm just putting peaks where it looks like they are needed and hitting guess parameters until they fit ;)

@gemlog @vfrmedia I've got a decent guess what is going on. My samples have some liquid interacting with them, causing molecules to bump into one another, giving them more Gaussian character then would be expected of a solid. Which means sense as they are super bendy crystals in a pool of liquid. I can test this by drying some of my crystals out, but all I needed was peak centres, which I now have.

Alright. Some of you are even younger then I am. I think you all need to see what might be both peak 90s and peak cybre.
See, back in the day, people had to SELL the IDEA of the internet. The term some of them used was the information superhighway.
Back then, a ton of tiny companies and groups ran things and often didn't get along.

Motivation for web app people to care about how much bandwidth they use one again? No more treating it like everyone has a fibre connection?

@ink_slinger I sat down and looked at past election results in my riding. Industrial area, typically close race between liberals and conservatives with NDP in distant 3rd. Both times I've been in ridings with more NDP support I've voted for them.

@deejoe @calvin @Elizafox Sorry, I think they started mandating better tests. Though I seem to recall that it wasn't until the baby formula thing that someone developed a bulk chemical test for it, rather then having to HPLC everything? Been a while since I took 3rd year anal chem, we talked about that for an entire class.
