@matt I have a couple of Velocifire keyboards. They are on the less expensive side, but they have been really great. I did have to get them through Amazon though, which I try not to do.
@gbryant Say, I tried to join the forum at heavyelement, and it said my info was flagged as spam. I'm not spam, I promise! It doesn't matter which email I use. Seems weird. Any idea what that might be about? Maybe it's a fluke and it doesn't like my IP or something, but if it's happening to other newbies too, that would be not so good...
Well, this seems like good news... I hope other cities follow suit.
"San Francisco supervisors voted to make the city the first in the United States to ban police and other government agencies from using facial recognition technology."
My friend and I deactivated our Facebooks together this weekend. I think Throw Away Facebook parties are a great idea - we want Facebook because it gives the illusion of community. But if community is all around us, then why do you need Facebook? Plus positive peer pressure is real handy sometimes.
Oh hi! Welcome to Mastodon! I was at Linux Fest this weekend, and was probably one of the people who looked at you funny, but was too socially awkward to say hi. But hi anyway! Thanks for coming out for the conference. Really enjoyed seeing you there. :)
@kev I agree in principle, but marketing makes all the difference. So if it promotes and makes free software easier to access, while supporting projects like the Librem5, I think it helps the cause overall.
Notes on Linux Fest NW - Our team, "Tork Xpressnap, SCA" tied for 4th place in the trivia tonight. So close to an actual prize! But not close enough. I'm sure we were the only table that had no Game of Thrones watchers at all, and so we didn't know that Khal Drogo spoke Dothraki. Where was Chris Were when we needed him?
Notes on Linux Fest NW - So many introverts! When I think I might one of the most extroverted in a room, there's definitely trouble. Having a great time, but haven't made any new friends yet. :)
