Glad to see the birdsite finally canned Jones. I'm still not going back, though. The place is still fundamentally broken. And he won't come here; even if he created his own instance, none but the handful of Nazi friendly instances would federate with him anyway.
Folks, Mastodon has no "verified" accounts like on the birdsite. That's one of the strengths here. Anybody can put a blue check in their profile. Just beware.
Look, I'm just going to level with you. We simply don't have enough puppies here on Mastodon, and it's a serious problem. I expect everybody to do their share. #puppies#dogs#mastodogs
So I'm building my class this year around historical reenactments of key decision points. Do you think deciding Henry VIII's split from Rome or whether Nicholas II should take Russia to war in 1914 is too advanced for 6th and 7th graders?
For those of you who feel the need to burn your footwear / apparel in protest of someone else's protest please ensure you do the following:
1) Burn all apparel in a tight, enclosed space. This will allow the flames of your rage to burn hotter.
2) Inhale deeply of the resulting smoke. This will internalize your rage and by consuming the smoke it will keep those fumes from dissipating into the air. Really feel the burning within.
Once again I have to chortle at conserva-cultists' latest performance-art "boycott" stunt by setting fire to Nike shoes. So far they've blown up ice coolers, crushed Keurig machines and burnt Nike gear. WHICH THEY ALREADY BOUGHT. All because of virtue-signaling and patriotic symbology. There's not going to be much left in their houses if this keeps up! 😂
In the final installment of my blog series on the rise and fall of Crazy Eddie, the discount electronics chain that masked an international criminal empire, the scheme finally collapses and the crooks (try to) scatter to the winds. An absolutely amazing story. The bold and the gullible: the incredible story of Crazy Eddie [Part III]. https://seanmunger.com/2018/02/01/the-bold-and-the-gullible-the-incredible-story-of-crazy-eddie-part-iii/
Our #EveningMovie tonight is "A Wrinkle in Time." So far it's dull and antiseptic. I don't believe these are real kids, they're perfect privileged movie kids. No danger they face is convincing because it's a pretty Disney movie where you know it will all turn out.
From her acclaimed album There Are No Saints comes a song called Whatever Helps that deals with the subject matter of depression. In short, it is an incredibly moving song that centres around Siobhan’s gorgeous vocals. But underneath her message is also importantly the gently executed sound of her guitar. With enough ‘maximum fuzz with minimum fuss’ it skilfully creates a very surreal mood.
