honestly if somebody hadn't spoken up about things being horrible in puerto rico and mexico, i wouldn't have thought to say anything about it.

@xj9 activitypub isn't fixing this thing, but imo it is fixing the fact that the documentation for ostatus is old and bitrotted and convoluted across multiple things to read that aren't useful separately anymore

@Elizafox same. i'm not super mad because they're not very obtrusive, they give back in some part (i actually got some help from one of their admins on things i was doing here), and the stuff they're about that doesn't go against US law is pretty agreeable to me
