@TomNovak Yes! Agree. I hated that too. I've read a few of his books, but never glommed on. All the marketing-bots love him, tho.

@monerica Agree and disagree. Agree that marketers are manipulating us and using emotivism, necessitating the need for logic and rationality. But, disagree that it must be this way. The key problem, and Godin falls prey to this, is the elimination of objective truth and necessary good/evil. Godin thinks as long as you're authentic it's okay. Well, Hitler was authentic. We need to ask is this thing necessarily good before we 'market' it.

@sam_cw_leung The thing is, you never know when you're actually the old dog until it's too late, lol. Agreed on hiring the young ones. They come out so cock-sure and so useless. I've had good luck with a couple tho—there are the rare few who are special from day one.

I thought I'd take a break from my typical reading and go for something business lite. (This will sound like a humblebrag but it's not meant that way.) I picked up Seth Godin's, "All Marketers Are Liars". Reading it is taking more energy than reading Kirk, Kuehnelt-Leddihn, or the Apostle Paul. Why? Because it's so vapid and shallow and just damn stupid that I have to force myself to keep going. I can feel my mind softening with each page. Millions read this crap, and only this crap, every day.
