Think about how many times in a day on the Web you click “I agree” when you really don’t agree just so you can get on with your day and use an everyday thing.
@bobjonkman and I exchanged a few text messages; discovered that the client only presents notification on new messages when application does not have focus. We didn't try a phone call. Where are the menus that offer options like file xfer, conferences, and screen sharing?
Does anyone here rely on screen readers or #braille or something? How does your tool recognise #hashtags? Is the usage of many tags rather annoying for you?
I use the Orca screen reader and GNUSocial. hashtags do not present any special problem; they are read as such, and are presented as links. Browser is the latest firefox. Orca has descriptions for common imojis; too many of these can slow down reading.
@bobjonkman@davehunt@bobjonkman I hope bridges are coming this year. I currently have bridges with Discord/IRC/mattermost and a SIP account so it's still compatible with a lot of things but just for me.
For accessibility, a blind person can use Jami (at least last time we had some feedback, I think the mail is still on the ML) (with the screen reader on via the hidden labels). But yeah I need to add more keystroke shortcuts... never had the time to do that.
