@RadicalEdward @ryen This is a common problem with some players and long VBR mp3s.

(IIRC, I suggested many of these works originally, so I'm glad to know that Adrian enjoyed them enough to recommend them!)

Maybe it's Eyesaline (ieure@mastodon.social)'s status on Saturday, 14-Dec-2019 18:46:36 EST Maybe it's Eyesaline @bstacey @ajroach42 I know Keaton isn't exactly unknown, but he was god damn brilliant and deserves significantly more recognition. Gags so good they're still being copied 100 years later. Incredible effects work. Writer, director, actor, stuntman -- he did it all, and did it better than most can do any single one of those things.

This is a big ol' list of the public domain movies I watched this year, with links and short reviews or descriptions.
If you find it useful, I'd love to know.
If you have questions, or comments, this is the place for them.
If you notice problems, I accept PRs (on github, at the moment, but we'll fix that eventually.)

Reading about this, it sounds like an overlay network like Tor, but less anonymous. What am I missing? Is this actually useful?

This narrative feature film was shot with a hand-wound 16 mm camera that could only capture thirty seconds of footage at a time." With no sound on camera!

One of my favorite movies ever, but unquestionably one of the worst ever finished.

Andrew (R.S Admin) (ajroach42@retro.social)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2019 15:28:14 EST Andrew (R.S Admin) - Plan 9 from Outerspace: Not actually the worst film ever made, but definitely in contention. Unintentionally funny, inept, etc.
- Charade: One of the best movies in the public domain. Screwball romcom with spies. Very enjoyable.

Andrew (R.S Admin) (ajroach42@retro.social)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2019 15:14:57 EST Andrew (R.S Admin) - Topper Returns:
Topper is a kind of silly novel about a man getting frisky with a ghost. This is a movie in which that same man solves a murder. Eventually made in to a decent TV shows.- The Slowest Gun in the West:
TV Movie with Jack Benny and Phil Silvers. Lampoons cowboys. Pretty good. Only available in low quality. -
Andrew (R.S Admin) (ajroach42@retro.social)'s status on Friday, 13-Dec-2019 15:11:26 EST Andrew (R.S Admin) - The Magic Sword (1962):
Children's high fantasy adventure. It's great, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.- Menace from Outerspace: Rocky Jones Space Ranger! This is a movie made of episodes of Rocky Jones. It's pretty bad! But I love Rocky Jones, so I don't care. Better as a TV show than a Movie.
- Crash of the Moons:
Same as above, but it's a better movie.- Yongary Monster from the Deep: Korean Godzilla, basically.
