@Downes the nice thing about this one was it was strictly for residents to sell their stuff- no official or professional vendors allowed. This was one of my favourites- the sign says ‘gratis’

@dadegroot thought of you and you blacksmith forge when we saw the vasa. This anchor was about 12 feet tall and I cannot imagine where it was forged!

today we're off to Sweden's 'Recycling Festival' -which seems to be a yard sale/street party attended by a projected 100,000 people. My daughter and I are loving the idea. Husband and son, maybe not so much. I'm hoping for some culture and maybe a bargain.

We have sunshine, so we are winning already. Fingers crossed for a great day.

Here's hoping you wake up to a lovely dawn chorus, with a burden lifted, and a freedom for the coming weeks.

I'm not sure if I can face the news today. I've had to shut some tabs. Maybe there have always been horrors and people didn't see or hear of them.

Turning off the news is not enough. Each voice of peace and love matters. In my very small way, I'm off to hug my children, smile at strangers, and encourage my students to do good wherever they can.

@wdmonte we’re triumphantly chomping Swedish fish candies en famille (one of our children is a strict veggie and so often is left out of enjoying gummy sweets- but not tonight!)

@maloki honestly, I think February is just pretending... there was ice on our little bird bath this morning.

@Downes I'm sure nobody's tired of you. Travel is wonderful, but so is rest, and nothing replaces time with family at home.

Is it bicycle season yet in Canada? It should be here - but we had ice on the birdbath this morning!

today I head off... wheels in motion. Last rehearsal at noon. gotta iron the outfit, pack. I've got red nails (I've only done that about 10 times in my life -including as a kid)

I always tell my students I may push them, but not to do anything they aren't capable of doing. ...let's hope I'm not pulling a Florence Foster Jenkins. We're on tomorrow at 11am and yes, I will record and share. besides being open, it's a sort of engrained reflection process for me. For now I'm nervous.com
