And the people talking (loudly!) on cell phones! One patron takes a call, says "Hang on just a minute" and I'm hopeful she'll go outside, but no, she's just looking for a comfortable place to sit down and chat. #Duffer at the #Library -

Ideally, there would be group study rooms. I've seen those at the University of Waterloo, where 4-5 people can work together without disturbing others. But that requires capital funds, which libraries are sorely lacking. -

The Kleenex conversation is in competition with the youngsters at the computer commenting on their buddy's video showing him typing HTML. #Duffer at the #Library -

Listening to a (loud) conversation about the current abysmal state of the quality of Kleenex. #Duffer at the #Library -

At the Library. It is no longer a place where the librarians say "Shhh!" with a frowny face, and I don't think that's made the library a better place. #Duffer -

What's happened to http://fediverse.com or https://fediverse.kranglabs.com/ ? I get a mysterious error ("fediverse.com: 4003") from the one, and a timeout from the other. !Fediverse -

Twitter is getting ruined so hard that it's not even funny.
Last night they added rules that they would ban people off Twitter for activity on other sites.
They fingerprint your browser and track you across any sites with a "Tweet this" button or something. And if you visit too many sites they don't like, you get banned

I've never used sites like that. When a security vulnerability is announced lots of people flock to those sites to check if they've been pwnd. That space is ripe for trojan sites harvesting credentials rather than checking them. Having Firefox normalize that behaviour will be counterproductive in the long run. !privacy
