This #ForthDay marks the 40th anniversary of the Forth Interest Group.

Things I learned -- the very, very, very first FIG-Forth version was for the 6502!! #ForthDay

The moment when you think you just totally blew your opportunity to make a good impression during your #ForthDay talk, but ended up getting a lot of positive feedback and inquiry afterwards.

I'm glad that it went well, considering I condensed a 45-60-minute talk into 12 minutes.

I ate way too much, and of what I ate, had way too many carbs. Crash coming in 3...2...1...

I am really finding that I am developing a love-hate relationship with ModBus.

On the one hand, it's reasonably convenient to use once you get basic framing in place.

But, on the other hand, it's so hokey in everything one would ever *consider* using it for these days.

There has to be something better out there. And, no, SunSpec isn't it.

@djsundog This is what Chuck Moore has been saying we should all be doing by now. He doesn't like the idea of general purpose computers. He prefers task-optimized, but cheap, computers instead.

@saper I've never used Ficl; always had gforth available to me for my needs. But I do like how they implement objects.
