@temporaryDouchebag @hamsterglue I meant that it is plausible to get hundreds of RPM out of a modified AR like that. Never fired one but just saying you probably wouldn't be able to aim for shit. The distance was not short either, but again if you are firing into a blob of 20k people you just bear down on it.

The whole thing stinks to high heaven and in a fishy way. But given the sheer number of people involved it seems it would be impossible to truly cover up.

@hamsterglue Seems like there's probably enough trauma there that it would be difficult to ascertain if he had one of these insanity inducing brain tumors.

@panda_monium Well, it certainly is a pattern. They thought there were multiple shooters during the Dallas thing last year too.

The big problem I always see with it is that all these other shooters, firefights, etc that at some point it would seem impossible to keep it under wraps

@panda_monium I imagine there is a ton of chaos during a thing like this so some of it will turn out to be wrong, but it seems like some of this ought to be corroborated? And why try to pin it on one crazed lone gunman? He's just a fall guy?

@chris @GummyNerds You said indiscriminately. While we have lots of unintended collateral damage around here, most of those shootings are targeted because it is inter-gang fighting.

@shanehawkk I'll also mention that there was apparently a Congressional hearing on the war at some point that Johnson didn't like that was being televised and then at the last minute CBS (you know the thesis) showed I Love Lucy reruns instead.

Watching the Vietnam documentary and here's a story of the #algos - apparently in 1967 the Pentagon plugged in all the data they had about the war and asked the Algo when they would win the war. It said 1965.

@chris And we're slowly shoving Chocolate City out into Maryland. Years ago in this neighborhood, I heard gang shootings. Now all the Section 8 housing is torn down and replaced with condos for upper class folks. Gentrification is weird.

@chris I feel like the cult of personality aspect has grown. I was here during the Bush years, and it seems like the tenor has changed. One of my favorite things is to walk around the 'hood and listen to podcasts (go figure) and it is just more in your face than ever.

@PhoneBoy @SpookyR I can only speak to my own experience. When I dealt with it, the editorial staff were considered stakeholders in it. That isn't necessarily good documentation, but it wasn't exactly secret (or complicated)

@SpookyR True. I'm really only talking about #algos within the context of the company. It is generally something that is documented.
