@kaniini I'm given to thinking that @Gargron could probably get around those objections by setting up a non-profit charity/foundation.
That gives people the opportunity to do one-off donations, and he doesn't necessarily need to disclose exactly how big the salary he takes from it is.
Also it gets people into the mindset of being a charitable donor, rather than an investor.

My Halloween binge-watching series I think is going to be "Stan Against Evil".
I think it strikes the right balance of horror, compelling plot and comedy.
(It's basically like watching an elderly Doctor Cox fight demons and I love it)

I just ran around the deserts of Cetus like a moron while people ten times stronger than me did all the heavy lifting in missions.
It has jacked my level up to 7-10 for most things, so my accidental stupidity worked out in the end π
Right... now to pick an actual quest line.

Well, I played Warframe for an hour. Finished off the first quest line, did a few squad missions and got promoted as an initiate.
In future, if you find yourself playing with a green dude called "WibbleFM", that's me! π
(The green colour scheme is a nostalgia thing for me, as those were my colours when I played Halo multiplayer back in university)

My other motivation for playing Warframe enough to be competent is I do have an FPS gaming regret.
I never played PUBG, I just watched people doing Twitch streams and YouTube let's plays on it, and now it's no longer free-to-play. π€¦βοΈ

I was going to include No Man's Sky in that "at home" list, but in the latest version they've completely changed everything to the point it's basically a new game! π
I've only played to the point I've flown to a second system, then stopped. In the versions that came before I did literally everything apart from own a freighter.

And yes, that is definitely a trope I've seen in other FPS games.
I'm mostly playing Warframe because people I know IRL keep prodding me about it.
I'm much more at home playing Stellaris, Civilization V, Cities: Skylines, The Sims, Skyrim/Oblivion, X-COM: Enemy Unknown, etc.
I now mostly just play FPS games during LAN parties. The last time I played them in anger Halo: Reach was a thing.

@ChrisWere @matt @canuckifiedoz in fairness MATE (i.e. Gnome 2) is probably more similar in layout to a Mac than Windows. So it could also be a bit of muscle memory from the old-timers.
I've found going back to MATE was a good move for me.

And yes, this was discovered while porting my old "Stop hating on No Man's Sky" article for the new version of Bob's Tech Site I seem to be taking forever to finish.
Since I wrote that I did everything apart from own a freighter, then stopped playing it for a while.
I've briefly tried the new version with multiplayer on a new game and really liked it. I think it's worth an update post at some point π
