@measlytwerp gpg can do that. Encryption happens at write-time using the public keys of the authorised users. Authorised users then decrypt at read-time using their own private key.
You can encrypt the same file with multiple keys, so that any of the authorised users can decrypt. Re-encrypting when the authorised users list changes is possible, but someone would need to decrypt it first (iirc).
It's nice to see an #Android phone Maker release the kernel source code for a phone on the same day it was launched. #OnePlus #6T
https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t-kernel-source-code/
As a company releasing a product based on Linux, they're _supposed to_ release kernel code. However, so many others take a long time β sometimes several months (or longer).
Releasing code the first a day should be applauded. π
If there's anyone going to be in the Stirling, Scotland area next Tuesday, I'm short a speaker for TechMeetup Stirling....
Low odds I know, but if you don't ask you don't get :)
@alejandro P50 with 16Gb ram and 512Gb ssd
Can't find a USB stick. Time to see if my TFTP server still works...
@kungtotte apparently I should also be in that museum... ;)
Inherited fixer up laptop is a bit noisy.
>Takes out all base screws.
>Watches tear down video.
>Realises it's more work than prepared to invest in making it quieter.
>Puts all the screws back in.
Shoutout to #Debian for giving the world an amazing non-corporate community distro.
I swear *this* is the time when I do everything from configuration management, and no ad-hoc changes... Well, I'll try anyway ;)
Well I guess I know what I'm doing tonight...
Confession: I detest mail-in voting. Imagine the biggest asshole you know. Now think of them "helping" their partner or kids or employees vote "the right way", multiplying the power of their asshole ballot.
Voting can't be free unless it's anonymous. Mail-in voting isn't anonymous. I know the reasons why people like it, but I think they're outweighed by the inherent loss of privacy in marking your choices where there could potentially be others watching.
I'll say more about the musical another time, but thought these lyrics fitting in current situation (or at least my state of mind).
Let's see if Big Blue + Red Hat can become Purple Hat, something new and innovative while retaining the open culture and spirit. (Plus purple is my favourite colour π). Don't write #RedHat off yet, bring on tomorrow, we can't wait.
@cybette not sure I can, I've been in the same scenario. Well, apart from sleep. Takes a lot to stop me sleeping ;)
@northernjamie enjoy #odcamp! It's looking increasingly likely that I'll regret missing it :)
@cybette yeah, I'm struggling to process this. Tomorrow's mailbox is going to be fun ...
@kev @amolith @mike @ryandaniels @codesections @measlytwerp @ericbuijs @Batcastle all 3 followed me today too, for the record. No sign of bad behaviour yet, but I agree it's a bit weird...
The set of Maxwell's equations on the back of James Clerk Maxwell's statue in #Edinburgh #Science
I'm not religious, so I tend to avoid the word "blessed", but it's hard to think of a better one today. I'm truly lucky to live and work where I do...
Autumn colours are fantastic.
@bjoern that's a cross poster, right? I don't post my own stuff on Twitter, I'm just looking to find a way to follow the last few people who's content I find interesting over there from here. Hence I want a bot or something that will post or DM their tweets to me.
(Yes, I could bookmark their feed and go look every so often, but I'm lazy and won't do it. Know thyself is always step number zero for any process :P)
